What do we cover in The Plant Based Athlete?
Our plant based athlete course is structured into 6 modules. You can start anytime and go through the modules in your preferred order.
The introduction Module 1 focusses on nutrition overall and the pro's and con's of plant based nutrition for athletes.
In Module 2 we cover the 5 basics of athlete nutrition that you should know about. You will be able to understand the benefit of this lifestyle and get an understanding how to build muscle on a plant-based diet. We also show you examples of the nutrition required per type of sport.
Module 3 focusses on understanding the meaning of BMI and its limitations. You will learn handling being underweight or trying to gain weight and how to approach that on a plant-based diet.
Module 4 gets you answers to 5 important questions about sports nutrition. Understand when to eat and what to eat pre- and post workouts.
Module 5 is called “Enhance Performance”. We cover how we ingest and digest food and how is alkaline or acidic food related to enhanced performance? What roles do sleep, alcohol and oxidative stress play in performance and recovery and how do we avoid and handle hypoglycemia? Many questions, lots of answers!
The very convenient Module 6 is loaded with our recipe book “athlete fuel” as well as 4 meal plans for an entire week based on different levels of caloric needs. You will definitely find the suitable recipe inspiration and meal plan for you.
